Biography:

Received a Ph.D. in 2012, and now a Leading Researcher and Associate Professor at Vladimir State University (Russia), in the Department of Functional and Constructional Materials Technology. The main areas of investigation include the theory and technology of cast metal matrix composites. Research interests also include thermodynamic simulation and its application to light alloys design, zinc antifriction alloys, and composites. Author of over 200 scientific publications in the field of casting aluminum alloys and metal matrix composites, with more than 70 of them in peer-reviewed international and national journals. During the last few years, Dr. Prusov has conducted extensive fundamental research related to investigating the physicochemical processes of interaction between alloying and reinforcing components, as well as establishing the interrelationship between technology, structure, and properties of cast metal matrix composites. The research and developments have been carried out within the framework of scientific projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Science Foundation, and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. Technical developments and inventions are protected by 17 patents. Selected results of these investigations have been featured in the book "Metallurgy of Aluminum Matrix Composites" (2017, in Russian) and have been implemented at national industrial enterprises in the manufacture of cast parts of various types for textile engineering, mining equipment, railway transport and other fields, as well as being utilized in the educational process for training bachelors and masters in the field of Materials Science and Technology, forming the basis for the creation of new lecture courses and laboratory practicums in the area of cast composite materials. The scientific developments have laid the groundwork for the establishment of the Scientific and Technological Center "Composite" with the participation of Vladimir State University in 2018.
A recognized expert, elected as a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Member of the Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia, International Association of Engineers, World Association for Online Education, International Association of Innovation Professionals, and many other reputable professional societies. Editorial Board Member of the Metallurgia Italiana (2017) and the Applied Engineering Letters (2023), Reviewer Board Member of the Materials and the Metals. Recognized as a key community leader and researcher and have received numerous awards for several achievements. Among these recent awards are the Winner’s Diploma of the all-Russian contest “Golden Names of Higher Education” in 2019, the Gratitude of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia in 2019, and the prestigious “Best Scientific Paper” award of the World Foundry Organization (WFO) in 2018.
